I am encountering an unspecified error code 5:0:0 when I use Visual Studio 11+ (retail box) to create an HD-DVD disc on a DVD-R burn. Basically, when I get ready to create an DVD-R with HD-DVD content, the program error out with unspecified error code 5:0:0. I have no idea why. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here are standard lists of specs.
1. Program: Visualstudio 11+ reatil box
2. Project perference is: Upper field first
3. Original source: HDV from Canon HV-10 (HD camcoder with MPEG2 @ 1440x1080)
4. Capture video through Visualstudio 11+ which should be in the right format.
5. Made sure project preference has been switched over to use upper field first.
6. Go to share and create disc.
Customized the MPEG encoder from default 1440 HD-DVD 15G profile to change the field to upper field first.
7. Created the chapter and click also create HD-DVD folder and started to burn with DVD-R 4.7GB inside the disc.
Hardware:
Macbook Pro with Windows XP Home (with boot camp)
Core Duo 1.83 Ghz, 2 GB Ram, external eSATA harddisk.
Visualstudio error out with Unspecified Error 5:0:0

Hi
about trying a clean re-installation?
Launch Windows Explorer and go to "Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders";
Purge/delete all the files in these folders: "C:\Windows\Temp" "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp" (for WinXP);
It is safe to delete all contents of these folders. However, leave any files you can?t delete for now;
Delete these folders/directories: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems" "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\11.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc" (for full versions);
Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information";
Delete the folder "{E188D820-1218-4E28-8BCA-91134C3664C2}";
Go to Start-->Run;
Type "regedit" then "OK";
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Uninstall;
Locate and delete the identity enclosed in curly brackets that corresponds to Ulead VideoStudio 11: "{E188D820-1218-4E28-8BCA-91134C3664C2}";
Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio";
Delete the folder "11.0";
Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio";
Delete the folder "11.0";
Close Regedit and restart Windows;
Reinstall Ulead VideoStudio 11.
Hope this would help.

At step 6 go to Share, Create Video and render a HD DVD
Then clear the timeline by starting a new project, go to Share, Create Disc and now import that HD DVD file.
Francy, Is this your answer for everything because I'm tired of reading it. It's great to provide assistance to others but these responses of yours only carries un-necessary work for the person(s) having problems.Hi
about trying a clean re-installation?
I think it's great to help, just don't post BullS with detailed instructions how to un-install / re-install for every post. Quite a few persons have followed your advice because they didn't know any better, which happens to take an appreciable amount of ones time.
This person needs to correct his workflow.
FRance, he can create Dolby 5.1 or 2/0 on his hd-dvd. Please tell him how to use the burning module correctly because it's actually like a separate program. If you could post these instructions I've love to see it (and others would definitely appreciate it). Becomes tiring repeatedly typing in the same instructions.
Thankyou, etech

I fully agree with etech6355. Whilst I do appreciate your good intentions of trying to assist our members, the response "Please try re-installing 'whatever product' to cure this problem" is NOT the first course of action that should be made. Often the problem lies in the users work flow or due to a conflict. We prefer to explore other possibilities before suggesting re-installation methods.

henrycyao,
Your correct about not being able to create Dolby Audio from the timeline while exporting your edited video (hd-mpeg2) file.
The burning module has properties & preferences that also need to be adjusted. It's in this module that you can have the audio converted to dolby 2/0 or 5.1. The video will not be re-rendered if you make all the correct settings for the burning modules project properties found under the Gear Icon -> Change Mpeg Settings -> Customize.
To learn how to use the burning module correctly I suggest reading through the tutorials on this forum. The workflow for DVD is the same as for HD-DVD so simply make the correct adjustments under preferences & the project properties for HD-DVD.
