I received a PM in the other Web Board. See this post : http://www.grandpasgraphics.net/forum/v ... ?p=631#631
hi Vidoman,
i just registered for this site as i may buy ulead plus 11.
if you may answer a few questions i would appriecate it.i sent them to the corel contact page,no response and i called them, but they are off all week for the 4th.
1)i use a video frame size of 1440x480.but when i input it in to my avid liquid 7 or pinnacle studio 10 or windows movie maker it resizes it to 720x480 and its upsquashed.in liquid 7 i can change the screen size with a number of choices 1280x1080,720x480,etc but it still doesnt unsquash the video or stretch it back out to 1440x480.i was told by a friend in a yahoo group that ulead can do this, similar to resizing a photo in photoshop where you can input the width, height with or without constraints.if so that would allow me to set the frame size to at least 1440 width, then i can resize the video to what it should be ,then to do much needed editing.i hope you can give me an answer on this.
2)i use a sony sr1 with the avchd format.the software that comes with the camera allows basic trimming but thats all and disc making.i understand there may not be much avchd editing support now,but in the description of plus 11 on corels site,it mentions avchd support.so can editing be done with this?
3)and finally,it talks about hd dvd authoring.to clarify, can i input the hd avchd content and a blank dvd-r to make a hd dvd disc from the sr1? i also have a tape sony fx1 camera which i assume would be able to make a hd dvd disc, but i am not sure if the avchd format can be done.
i hope you can answer these questions.i am thinking of going blu ray,but if ulead can do what i hope i will get it and wait on blu ray, which is more expensive
thanks

Since this is dealing with HD video, I referred him here. He's mainly interested in if it is possible to use a custom frame size of 1440 x 480.
