Unable to save clip with Attributes applied

Hello ~
I am a new user to VS11+ and absoutely love this program so far.
The problem I am having is that I am unable to save a clip with attributes applied.
My steps are:
1. While editing a clip, I switch to the Attributes tab
2. Apply desired attribute
3. When I go back to the Video tab the attribute is no longer applied

I have tried saving by doing: Clip -> Save Trimmed Video, and I have tried saving the Project too, but the Attribute is gone whenever I play it.

Probably overlooking something stupid, but cannot figure this one out.
