Audio & video from 2 different camcorders ?

Post by Nounours18200 »

Hello friends,

I have recorded a concert with 2 cams (let's say cam1 and cam2), but the audio of the cam1 is horrible because i was too close from the main loudspeakers , but it has a excellent image quality.

So I would like to make a video with the image of cam1 and audio of cam2.

How to proceed to:
1-.remove audio from the video of cam1,
2-.keep only the audio of cam2
3-."synchronise" as much as possible the image and the audio: i suppose that it is not easy to precisely synchronise the both to avoid a too big gap...

Thanks for your advices

N.
P.S.: I can use UVS10+ or Magix VDL2007+

1. Split Audio is found on the Edit page with your Cam 1 video in the timeline and highlighted. However, as you may know, Split Audio in fact makes an exact copy of the audio file and inserts it on the audio track in the timeline so you can edit it separately. But the original audio is still with the video -- only the Mute button is applied. So in fact, if you don't intend to use the audio from Cam 1 at all, just mute the whole video.

2. Create Audio File is found on the Share page, with the video from Cam 2 in the timeline and highlighted. Save to .WAV format.

3. It is not clear if the concert was orchestral or of a singing group. If the former, then sync does not have to be frame perfect. Just identify a point which is readily identifiable in both camera versions, and start there. If it is a singing group, then you may have to be a bit more painstaking about getting close frame accuracy, if there are a lot of close-ups of lips singing... Otherwise, again it just a matter of dragging the audio file(s) back and forth until close accuracy is achieved.

Bonne chance!

hello NounOurs18200

Your proposed method will work..but, I would suggest a more conservative approach. Do not mute the bad sound of video 1 , at least not yet.
Keep the video of the good sound video 2 with the audio.

It will be easier to synchronize, if you can hear the bad sound of Video 1 in Time Track One and the good sound & video of Video 2 in the first overlay track. You can synchronize the visual as well as the sounds, with precision together. Then you can mute the bad video 1 and drop the Video 2
into the music and or narration (microphone) track.

This is just a suggestion that has worked for me, when using two camcorders.

good luck

Thanks friends,

To reply to Ken, unfortunately, it must be precisely synchronized because it is a singing group and that's what makes me anxious...

I am trying this and keep you informed !

Tks
