I get very jerky videos with VS 11+.
The video source is 30 fps and I set the project setting to 30 fps but it looks like the final video was rendered with a project setting of 25 fps, in other words a slight jerk every second or so. It does not happen with VS 10+ so I went back to using it instead. Is this a bug in the software or something?
I tried several different WMV renderers and also MPEG4 H.264 and it happens every time with VS 11+.

Is the video source also not standard DVD specifications in other ways, such as the frame size (I suspect it will be 640 x 480...)? Can you right click on the source video within VS and copy all of its properties here please and tell us also where it came from e.g. a digital still camera.
Also have to make sure that the Field Order of the original (Upper or Lower Field First) is maintained... otherwise a common problem is jerky video as well.
Could be a combination of factors at work here.

The video is a 640x480 30 fps MOV from a Nikon Coolpix 3700 digital compact camera. It's a progressive video so the frame type is set to "Frame-based" (no field-order).
I always set the project options to the following when I make a video with this camera:
Edit file format: MPEG files
Frame rate: 30 frames/second
Frame type: Frame-based
Frame size: 640 x 480
Compression media type: MPEG-2
The properties for a typical source video is as follows:
File format: Quick time Movie Files
Movie size: 640 x 480
Duration: 347.067 seconds
Track counts: 1 video track(s), 1 sound track(s)
Video Track 1:
Compression: Photo - JPEG
Attributes: 24 bits, 640 x 480
Total frames: 10 412 frame(s)
Frame rate: 30.000 frames/sec
Duration: 347.067 seconds
start at: 0.000 seconds
Sound Track 1:
Compression: None
Attributes: 7.875 KHz, 8 bits, Mono
Total samples: 2 733 150 samples
Duration: 347.067 seconds
Start at: 0.000 seconds
I've used this same camera to make maybe a hundred little RC aircraft videos with VS 9, 10 and 11, and only 11 does this. I uninstalled it and re-installed 10+ and that version works perfectly so I'm using that instead for now, or at least until a patch is released.
Here's an example of a video made with VS 11+. It has the typical jerky motion you get with mismatched framerates:

Here's an example of a video I made with VS 10+. It's smooth:

I have tried different renderers for both audio and video; CBR, the different VBR's and WMV7-10 but the result is the same for all in VS 11+.
System specs:

ASRock 4CoreDual VSTA motherboard

Well, at least you have a work-around with VS10... And I understand they *are* working on a patch.
The only other thing I can think of for the moment is the fact that, although you have 2 graphics cards, you are running three monitors. To my mind, their on-board RAM might not be sufficient in itself, so to run the monitors properly, the graphics cards might be 'stealing' system RAM. Now, I have noticed that VS11+ seems to be much more resource-intensive than its predecessors, including a higher RAM usage in its own right. If your total system RAM is only 1GB, this might not be sufficient for running three monitors AND VS11.
You might want to experiment by turning off two of the monitors while you are using VS. Also check your computer's swap/paging file to make sure it is sufficient.
