HDV to HD-DVD, audio drop out if I cut anything out

Post by germandebbie »

I used VS11 trial and made several HD-DVDs
without any problems. The HDV was captured
from my Canon HV20. The HD-DVDs played
beautifully on my HDTV.

This is how I did it...

(1) open VS11
(2) click "Share"
(3) click "Create Disc"
(4) select HD-DVD 15G
(5) make sure MPEG setting is identical to original HDV
(6) create HD-DVD file
(7) burn HD-DVD file to DVD+R DL

However... that only works if I capture the HDV
and go straight to HD-DVD without making
any changes to the HDV.

If I want to take a 50-minute HDV video and
cut it down to 44 minutes(limit of DVD+R DL),
the resulting HD-DVD will suffer random and
persistent audio-drop out problems. This
happens even if I cut off the first 1 minutes
of any captured HDV video.

Any suggestions appreciated! :)
