trial version of Videostudio 11+

Post by benewbe »

Hi
Since I cannot reinstall Studio 10+ (lost the serial#) I thoought I'd use the trial Studio 11+. Yesterday I downloaded it, installed it, downloaded my dv file to avi type 1, added transitions and effects, ready to finish today, and I find I cannot use Studio 11+; it's still on the pc but it won't open.

Does anyone know what's going on?
I spent 4 h yesterday getting everything ready to finalise today, but cannot do anything!

A disc image I created yesterday (for a previous project) is in the default location (my docs\ulead), but it won't open. Nor wll the new project I created yesterday, saved as a project file.

Can anyone throw light on this please?

I read your previous posts on loosing your serial number, and not being able to locate it. So I'm providing a screen-shot of WinXP's registry of VS10+. This is where you find the serial number for your program:

A disk image should be an ISO file. You will need a burning program
in order to burn this ISO file. VS used to come with a burn utility, Burn.now that would burn ISO. However they must have omitted that from VS11.

 That's why I don't have it.. For VS11+ I never bothered with the 3rd disk (Bonus) stuff. Since still having 8,9 & 10 still installed, I had a few extra ones laying around to use..;)

re-installing V10+

Post by benewbe »

As I posted before, I do not have a version 10 serial # in the registry that resembles the number it should be (i.e. in the format shown in the picture).

I do have a version 9 serial #, and this doesn't resemble it either:

Ann nnn 91P 0N0000

I might as well give up trying to use this software!

Even the trial version 11+ has done something to cause the error message "the security information is invalid or has been modified. The program will be terminated".

My last fling is to write to Ulead. Not that I expect anything to come of it.

It's just very bad that having paid for a product I cannot use it, and even the trial no longer works after a couple of days. I really have not got the time to play around installing/uninstalling/downloading/uninstalling/reinstalling.....

Your VS9 serial number is not the correct format, which should be, nnnAn-nnnnn-nnnnnnnn.

Where are you getting your versions of VS? From a third party retailer? I'm not sure about why your Serial number formats are incorrect, other then hacked versions. If so you may want to contact the retailer(s) where you got them, and you may want to consider scanning your system for viruses.

Have you tried burning your ISO file using Burn.now or other burning application?
