Import from DVD - CRASH DOWN !!!

Post by smartboymario »

Hello,

if i want to import an DVD Movie,
i see the Chapter from the DVD.
When I click an Chapter for importing,
the ULEAD crashed down..

The DVD is from an standalone DVD Recorder.
The DVD is finished / closed. This crash comes
with all other regular DVDs.

Dont ask me that i try VOB TO MPEG Software,
this programm put all Chapter / or varoius Movies
in ONE FILE. And must cut thsi with an other software.

So I ask you, why did i have purchased ULEAD SOFTWARE
for Video und DVD Authoring when i must use OTHER
Software ????

I have payed Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 and 6,
MUCH MONEY FOR ME !!!! And this software will not work.

I see that any users have the same problem !!!

I hope tha Ulead works on this problem.

All the best, Mario

.. iam sorry about my english !

Hi,

How about giving this a try?

There might still be some corrupt files left on your system. Perform a Clean Remove of the program from your system. You may or may not find all entries in the list.

1. Kindly remove MovieFactory 5 in the Add/remove programs.

2. After removing the program, go to this location and delete all folders:

"C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5.0"
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\5.0"
"C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\5.0"
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD"

3. Click on "START > RUN...." and type in REGEDIT and press enter (you may not find the following keys after uninstalling the software but just to be sure, check them).

4. Locate the following registry keys and delete them by "right-click > delete".

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\5.0
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\5.0

5. Once deleted, restart the computer and reinstall the product.

*** Editing the registry could cause system-wide problems if critical keys are removed. Make sure you delete only what is mentioned and if you are not sure how to do this, skip this part.

Hope this would help. :)

What OS are you running, WinXP SP2, or Vista? Are you running any other DVD authoring applications?

Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->Image will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

The fix I have supplied does NOT involve any changes to the Registry.
Simply rename the existing file rather than delete it so that if you wish you can reverse the process.

I have several Ulead programs installed as per my signature block below.
I have tested this on 3 of my systems with no adverse effects.
