Curious if folks out there that have used an HC3 with VS10's quirkyness have noticed an improvement with the VS11 upgrade? Is the VS11 more HDV friendly than VS10?
Looking for user input vs their product documentation.

I totally uninstalled my v8.o before installing 11+ and all it asked for was my v8.0 serial number which tells me it does not use any files from previous versions.somegeek wrote:Will a VS11+ installation be a completely independent installation from my current VS10+ installation? Technically Yes, they use shared common files. I would leave VS10+ installed along with VS11+. I'm not aware of any conflicts between the 2 programs. The importing of dvd's may/may not be affected in VS10+. If affected it's not hard to fix. I don't recall seeing any posts of a VS11+ installation affecting VS10+.

How did you setup the HC3 camcorder?

I tried to connect HC3 to VS11 but failed. When I clicked the "Capture" button in the movie wizard, it popped the error message: Capture Module Initialization failed. I did not see HC3 in the Imaging Devices of Device Manager. Could you please tell me how did setup your HC3? Thanks

I didn't try the Movie Wizard, I went to the standard VS11+ editing interface & then into the capturing module. The first time took about 30 seconds to find the cam. Sessions after that the cam was recognized faster.
You didn't mention your operating system.
You should be able to see your camcorder under device manager, I think it's listed as a AV/C device.
