16:9 file opens as 4:3 squished file in Windows Media Player

I have a VS10 16:9 hdv capture from my HC3. For some reason Windows Media player opens this in a 4:3 window and it's squished(right-clicking on the file in the right column shows a 4:3 aspect ratio for the file properties). Cyberlink DVD player sees this file correctly and displays a 16:9 image. VS recognizes this as a 16x9 file as well.

What's not happening here?
