Transitions on Layers in addition to Video Track

Post by l_breslow »

Can I make a transition on the Layers or secondary picture tracks. I have tried everything and cannot find a way to make a transition. I use a lot of Green Screen and need to dissolve or fade in individual Clips. If I can fade in and out of the sound tracks why can"t I do this as well with the secondary picture tracks.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have tried rendering to create the transitions, but it doesn't work.

Thanks, Larry B

You can't apply transitions to overlay tracks like you can with the main video track. Why Ulead doesn't do this is beyond me, and is another rant onto itself.

However, you can apply a simple fade in/fade out (or rotate in/out) on an overlay track. With a clip in an overlay track click on the Attribute tab. Under the Direction/Style Enter and Exit buttons are 4 icons. Those are your Fade In/Out, Rotate In/Out buttons.

Also, see this thread for a crossfade solution.
