I recently downloaded the software from Element 5 and have experienced many "glitches" i.e. getting booted when trying to add audio files. Now that I have a completed slideshow, I can burn up to 71% before an error message appears and the process stops. I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it but it still does not work. Any suggestions?

If your audio files are MP3 WMA, or another compressed format, try converting them to regular WAV files first. Compressed files (audio and video) can cause a lot of weird problems. I would bet that these "bad" audio files are also causing the conversion/burning problems....have experienced many "glitches" i.e. getting booted when trying to add audio files.
You will need an audio conversion program of some kind. If you don't already have the software to do it, Audacity (FREE!!!) can probably do it. I usually use GoldWave (~$45 USD) for audio work.
