I thought those photographs were amazing - very professionally taken and "picture postcard stuff" - enjoyed watching the videos of those snow blowing machines as well.
As for global warming I watch a lot of programs on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic and other such TV Stations. I saw one named The Big Freeze" which is Episode 6 of 8 forming a series called Earth Story.
In this documentary commissioned by the BBC Aubrey Manning explained that we are currently in an Ice Age. An Ice Age is when there is ice at the Polar Caps. Apparently and surprisingly the Earth does not always have ice, at other times the Earth almost becomes a snowball.
Nothing to do with car exhausts and aerosol cans etc - it is the natural cycle of the earth where volcanoes and also other things like the tilt of the earths axis cause the ice to melt. The fresh water from the molten ice then disrupts the flow of warm sea from the tropics moving towards the polar regions and then cooling and flowing back down again.
If you get the chance to see it it is well worth watching.

Don't believe everything you hear/see via the media. They will say anything that will bring in advertising revenue. often via vested interests. It is true there are natural cycles, but never anything as rapid as we have seen in your lifetime. And anyone who believes in the gospel according to Al Gore is as misled as those who think that climate change is 100% natural. There will always be extremist naysayers and ayesayers, including those who still think the earth is flat.sjj1805 wrote:I thought those photographs were amazing - very professionally taken and "picture postcard stuff" - enjoyed watching the videos of those snow blowing machines as well.

US Independence Day
The U.S. has a national holiday called Independence Day, that still is allowed to fall on the same day of the month July 4th, each year. Most of us just refer to it as July 4th.
It is a day of celebrating our independence from the queen of England. We no longer had to answer to the queen, we became a free, sovereign country. What a glorious day that was some 232 years ago.
What a sad day it has become now.
Thanks to all our more current leaders.
I heard a short little tid-bit on the radio the other day that pointed out how we are/are not free from other countries now. It went something like this..
On July 4th (Independence Day) we will celebrate our freedom from the queen of England. However while we celebrate, the fireworks that we shoot will come from China, the cars we drive will come from Japan, the guy selling us the cars from Mexico, the gas we put in our cars from Saudi Arabia, and the managers of the hotel/motels we stay in from India.
Yes sir we still are a self supportive, independent country, aren't we?
