VideoStudio 10/ Vista Ultimate/ Sound problem

I am running VideoStudio 10 and Vista Ultimate. And when I insert a sound clip, if I just go and select CLIP, then the file will play. If I select PROJECT, I do not get any sound, though if I open the sound pane, I can see that the sound is playing.

What am I missing?

UPDATE** When I actually go out and encode the file as an MPEG or DVD file, it works fine and the sound is included, just not when I am trying to edit the PROJECT.
