Post by mulubear »

I imported a .AVI to my library. When i try to mute out this specific footage, I lose the picture for the file. I can no longer edit the footage and it just appears a blank on my editing screen. What am i doing wrong?

Welcome to the Forums,

First we are going to need some more information. Please view This Thread, it provides a guideline to the specific information needed to help you.

1. AVI (Audio-Video Interleaved) is just a container, like a grocery bag. It can contain, DivX, Xvid, DV or even MPEG file formats. Which is your AVI? DV (Digital Video-13 gig per hour of video) is often referred to as DV-AVI, because it is a slightly compressed format, unlike the uncompressed AVI (65 gig per hour of video)

2. I don't know what you mean by "mute out" when talking about Video, or are you referring to Muting the audio?
