Installing Video Studio 11+ upgrade from download

Post by JockMcTavish »

Recently I bought a Fusion HDTV dual express card which had Video Studio 9 packaged with it. My computer is fairly high powered and runs Vista Home Premium, 2GB Ram, plenty of disc space etc. Had limited success in running VS 9, decided to buy VS 11+. Each time I installed the download everything proceeded normally but when I try to run the program I can't get past the Launch Screen. After a pause Windows says the program has stopped and it is trying to find a solution. So far without success. I am new to Video editing but can't understand why the program is so uncooperative. I have installed and uninstalled many programs but this is the first time I have drawn a total blank.
Hope someone out there can help!

What I do is use winzip to extract the setup files to a hard drive folder and then run the setup.exe file.

Thank you for your reply to my query. All I had to do was to open the program as Administrator. (Vista has a mind of it's own)!
