Capture DVD Video?

Post by sell2survive »

Hello, I am new to VideoStudio 8, but am a seasoned vet of editing on high end systems. I need to capture video from my internal DVD Player, is this possible? I see no device control or input for this action. Any help would be greatly appreciated since it will save me a ton of time and tape degradation having to transfer all that footage to DV tape. Thanks...KG

Right click in either the library pane area or in the timeline, and choose 'Insert DVD/DVD-VR'. Then follow the prompts.

I assume you are aware, though, that VS8 (and I am assuming you probably have a crippled SE version if you only acquired it recently), is now somewhat outdate. VS11 was recently released, and in my humble opinion, the insertion of video from a DVD has certainly improved with more recent editions.

Hi welcome to the Forum. I have version 10+ myself but I'm fairly confident you will be able to import from DVD with VS8 just depending on the type of files it's recorded to. Can you go into' My Computer' right click the Drive the DVD is in Select 'Open' Hover your Mouse over the TS Video Folder and post back the File Extensions.
Feedback after members have endeavoured to help you is not only good manners it also helps others to know if a given solution was effective. Thanks.
