Hi! I am trying to make a video using VS8. I am using video files on my computer that I imported into VS. I know from reading on this forum that VS8 doesn't support Dolby and I am not sure how to change my DVD recorder to not record in Dolby. I saw on a post that someone had said to get an encoder (I believe that was what they called it.) I am totally clueless about this and was wondering if someone could recommend one and give me a little guidance on how to convert the audio. I went on the recommended site and saw so many and they are all greek to me!
A thought just occured to me, the folder that I am importing from has two folders, Audio_TS and Video_TS. When I click on the Audio there are no files in it. I only imported the Video_TS into Ulead. Could my problem lay here or is the Audio folder always empty?
If you need any other info please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!
VS8 no audio

For all intents and purposes, apart from certain kinds of audio DVDs, the Audio_TS folder is always empty on video DVDs.
And almost undoubtedly, you have recorded in Dolby. But I am afraid I cannot help you with your DVD recorder -- you would need to consult its manual for that as each model is different in its controls.
There is a free Dolby 'AC-3 filter' on www.videohelp.com (do a search there for 'AC-3 filter') which will at least allow you to import the Dolby, but once in VS8 it has to be processed using either LPCM or mpeg layer 2 audio, as it is an inwards filter only, not an outwards one for finished product.
Someone the other day also posted that the Shareware program 'Video Converter' available on the www.movavi.com site will also do the job. Being shareware, you can at least download it and try it. But if it works, you should respect the shareware rules and pay the guy who invented it...
