Windows Error When using MovieFactory 3.5

Post by Rasdale »

When using the copy/fit option within MovieFactory 3.5 I get the following error:
Ulead Copy. Now has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

error signature:
AppName: discdup.exe AppVer: 3.5.0.3 ModName: lxdvdparser.dll
ModVer: 1.1.15.63 Offset: 0001a27f

I have windows XP sp2, the DVD drive is a Pioneer, the ULead software came bundled with the hardware, tried patches I found on the ULead web site, didn't resolve the problem. I also have the same problem with the trial version of Burn. Now

I just got a Pioneer DVR-A09XL with the bundled MovieFactory 3.5 and have the same trouble on my Win98SE system.

DISCDUP executed an invalid instruction in module LXDVDPARSER.DLL
BURNSTAR executed an invalid instruction in module LXDVDPARSER.DLL

I applied the Ulead patch and new Pioneer firmware listed at
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/a ... 90,00.html
(Note the malformed link to Ulead's site, they send you to "uplead.com")
The DVD Player works, usually. MovieFactory is useless. :(

I have the same problem. I too bought the Pioneer DVRA09XL with Ulead Moviefactory 3.5 and I'm getting very frustrated. I went to the Pioneer website two days ago and downloaded the patch, but it did not help this problem.

Dell 8200 512mg Ram, 70gig+ open realestate on the second hard drive Win XP SP2 and get the same error:

Ulead Copy. Now has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

error signature:

DiscDup and Movie Factory 3.5

Post by mossm »

I recently bought Pioneer A09XL with ULEAD bundled software and like others I cannot use DiscDup or Copy anything using Ulead Movie Factory 3.5.
I have a 1GHz PIII and Windows 2000.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mehran

I am another who has purchased the Pioneer DVRA09XL drive with the Ulead software bundle, and am having exactly the same problems.
Compaq PIII
XP Pro SP2

Given the number of posts here with the same problem a response from Ulead tech support would be appropriate.

Thanks,
Shane.

I have a pioneer dvd ± burner in a dell 8200 desktop and have the same problem. Dell has made it clear that they are in no way responsible for any of the software or hardware. Found other forums with many complaints about this particular drive.

You may add me to the list of people having trouble with the Pioneer A09XL with the bundled Ulead MovieFactory 3.5 and associated programs. Have not been able to get Ulead/Pioneer to recognize blank DVD media. Have uninstalled all previous CD writing software (which were working fine with the former CD writer) including DirectCD.
Running on a Dell 4100, PIII, 800mHz.
Had to uninstall the Ulead UDF writer because it cause the system to hang on startup.

Forgot to add that I am running Windows ME. Planning to update to XP pro. Bought the DVD writer to back up everything before updating to XP. Haven't been able to get it to write anything yet. Reads DVD fine (except blank ones).
