Compression problems

Post by tballo »

Can anyone help me out on this?

I have inserted a rectangule with a flag in front and converted it to vector and put a video file on the back side. It turns and show the video.

When I try to make a video file with compression DV Video Encoder 1 (the same as my DV camera), Field order A and frame size 720x576. It starting to make the video but cuts after a while, no error message or messages at all, and no file made. I can only use non compression to make the file. The compressed file is estimated to be 50mb, and the non compressed file over 300mb.

I have a CPU of 2 GHZ, 1+ GB Ram and a NVidia Geforce4 MX 440 graphic card with 64MB ram. I have a lots of GB free on disk. I have shut down any unnecessary process and watch the use of ram, it cuts after using about 100+mb, somethimes less somethimes more, the cpu is up to 100%.

I'm a doing something wrong or what?

TIA,
tb

Hi,

It is likely a resource issue. I've made 32-bit RBG/A files of 200 frames that took nearly 90 minutes to render. My guess is that I didn't close/kill all computer programs running concurrently with Cool 3d Production Studio.

Try EndItAll. http://www.xstudio.ca/pcsupport/system/ ... ement.html

It does a good job of freeing up your computer.

You might try just exporting targa files. I like them a lot for making my overlays.

Try rendering in Frame-Based, not Field Order A/B, to see if it fixes.

Hope this helps.

That didn't help me either. The video is of 400 frames and it stops after 50 and memory use after 100 mb. It just stops creating the video no message at all is displayed.

Is the video to large or a bug problem?

I can render my video with DV Type 1 codec OK in C3DPS.

Have you updated the display card driver from http://www.nvidia.com ?
And what's the properties of the video background you use in the C3DPS project?

Hope this helps.

Are you sure the video data rate 3515,63 kbps is correct?

I think it's too high?

In the file properties it say data rate: 3515.63 kbps.

I did check several video files and they all have the same data rate.

How many memory resource does it use when it renders?

If you set the virtual memory setting to be larger will it fix the problem?

To set the virtual memory, select Control Panel->System->Advanced->Performance->Setup, and then click on the Advanced tab and modify the Virtual Memory setting.

Hope this helps.
