Yes I read that but going back to square one.
There are 9 Region codes.
So if you are in the UK and choose Region 2 then anyone anywhere in Region 2 can play the DVD.
Region 2 wrote:The Middle East, Iceland, Western Europe, Central Europe, Egypt, French overseas territories, Greenland, Japan, Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland
So unless you think it's OK for all these millions of people to view the DVD but no one from other parts of the world then Region code protection would for you be a waste of time.

For more information I suggest you view this link
Wikipedia - DVD Region Codes

Does The MediaSutio can write/burn at the lead-in on a DVD-R?
The lead-in area of a DVD-r always contains a Region Code Mask of zero - this is "hard-wired". The value you can change in the VMG ( ie. in the IFO files ) and will be written to a DVD-R with software like Toast or Nero. This means there is a conflict between the lead-in and the VMG information which may cause issues on some players.

Region protection is used for nothing more than to protect against smuggling, counterfeiting, and those who don't wish to pay duties. It has little to do with copy protection.

Attaining copy protection is an extremely expensive process that is just plain not available to the general public. In order to copy protect a disk you first must burn it with a program that can set a copy protect flag (Sony's dvd architect, Roxio's DVDit pro and a few others will do this). Then you must send that disk in and have a glass master made. After you pay a fortune in licensing fees and in some cases royalties, they will then take your glass master and stamp out (at minimum) something like 1000 disks.... yes there is a minimum that you must meet... you can't copy protect one disk.

Bottom line... forget about copy protection... it isn't going to happen... and region protection is really kind of useless for the home user.

Not possible, and since we don't know all the questions you will ask, how can we possibly garner that information from a phone call to them. Besides that has to do with Pioneer and not Ulead, which places it as "Off-Topic" for this thread and Boards. If you have questions concerning your DVD player/recorder, I would suggest that you contact them.

Ok, but as you said that you don't know, how can you say that it's not possible? I don't understand.

I stated that I don't know all the questions you might ask.

Here's a link to Pioneer's Support Contacts;
http://pioneer.jp/support/contact-e.html. They will be able to provide better help, in a language that you can understand.....

If you have further questions regarding DVDMF, please post them, however for hardware devices, that are not Corel, Intervideo or Ulead's please use the General Discussions Forums.

It appears that your questions have been clearly answered, and continuing would prove unproductive, I'm locking the thread..
