Camera causing mouse to freeze.

It won't let me post this to the general help area. I'm having a problem with my camera. When I plug my camera in to upload pictures, my mouse freeze up and I can't do anything. I can cntrl-alt-del and arrow over, but my mouse remains frozen. I wasn't having this problem till today, after I installed a critical update to windows. I'm running win2k. I have a cdc-7530 and run Ulead 8.0.

Is it a USB mouse? Lacking any further information I would suspect a resource issue. Is Win2k still supported by MS?

Its a USB mouse, but its plugged into a ps/2 adapter. I can still download critical updates for win2k, so I guess its still supported by MS. I've had the camera for a year and haven't had any trouble till I got a new hard drive. I finally got it working with the new hard drive, and have had it working for a few months, till today, after I installed a critial update from windows
