:D Finally! Yesterday, I got out the camera and redid the whole thing checking the "split by scene" box. I feel that that was the problem...something in my first video creation was corrupt. Thankfully, mine was only 28 minutes after editing. If it were 5 hours, I don't know what I'd do.

Once the scenes were in the timeline and clipped, I added transitions, music & overlays. At about that time, my husband found the box at the front door, so I uninstalled the trial & installed the 2 CDs.
It worked! Then I inserted a lightscribe disc & tried that out for the first time. Excellent!

Today, I created a slideshow with about 175 pictures. At about 58% of creating the file, I got the error "insufficient memory". I tried disabling all of the icons in the bottom right tray & got the same thing.
Then I rebooted in the diagnostic mode & it worked.

Now, I'm very happy with the program, knowing that I can use it & understand it (enough to use it). It even has an ez version included that you can throw pictures or videos into and it will do the work, and if you aren't happy with all of the details, you can pull it into the more detailed program and tweak it. It only gets better from here. Thanks for all of your help!
