Toni, In using VS10+, VS11+ is the same,
Yes, I believe I also have those templates. I don't use them, I create my own. According to the MS instructions HD-WMV works best with CBR for both the video & audio. I don't think the templates are CBR, they are VBR.

In order to playback HD-WMV on my linkplayer2 device I have to customize the settings or the linkplayer2 will not play them correctly.

Lately I've been encoding some 1440x1080 down to 1280x720@59.94fps @6000kbs. The linkplayer2 play these (some WMP's windows doesn't). But since I'm doubling the framerate and passing the fields to the encoder the videos are smooth as the original source 1440x1080i videos from the tape. I guess they are frame based with each frame being one of the fields. All I know is it works and I don't have to go through other conversions to obtain the original motion. Series 9 encoder doesn't support interlaced video.

One version of the windows player will play them and other no. I have to go into the advanced features of WMP and make changes (drop-frames=no).

1-I can't understand how you can still hold on 6000 kbs CBR with doubling frame rates ?
2-To make compatible WMV HD DVDs do you une VS10 11 or MF6 ?
3- How does your production looks on display (forgot the type and size of your display?)
4-if you have time can you explain step by step production of linkplayer compatible dvds with the programmes you use
5-It would be so good to have a new hd tutorial where all this hd posts can be grouped
and finaly once again I appreciate so much your very usefull

I still have to get buffer settings correct and some other tweaks before the videos can play on most players (linkplayer & computer).

Yes, all of these including the windows encoder & some other apps. They all have the same settings.

I find that 1280x720 at 6000kbs hd-wmv is nice video. 1280x720 also uses square pixels (PAR=1.000). Easier to distribute & about 90 Minutes on one single layer dvd.

Eventually.

I think that PDF files would be a better solution, a separate PDF version for each program. This way version numbers or revisions can be updated easier.
It takes time to write a procedure & longer to verify/test/review it.
