Dolby AC3 plugin hangs during disc making

Hi,
I am a new user and currently have been happy using VideoStudio 8 to create DVD's. Yesterday I purchased and downloaded the Dolby Digital plugin (geez $30 for a 2mb file). I've applied all the patches updates to my install and basically when I'm attempting to burn my project to DVD and choose Dolby digital AC3, the "converting video" process hangs forever (like all night). VideoStudio basically dies and I have to kill the application and reboot to use it. I can produce DVD's using any of the other audio encoders EXCEPT AC3.

any advice? PLEASE HELP?

Update:

I did an uninstall/reinstall of everything and tried it again and VIOLA!

Burned a Dolby Digital 1 hour program and it looks and sounds great!
