After my edits, I need VideoStudio to export/render/encode to a lossless video format. I'm talking output, not capture input. Most of my input source is MPEG-2.
I tried HuffYUV, and as good as it is, the final output has black borders. I could make the argument that it's an anamorphic-to-square pixel thing going from .mpg to .avi, but the borders are not just on the sides or the top, but BOTH sides and top making the picture much smaller. Even if I were to re-encode this content later, the black borders don't go away. I don't know why this is. I tried everything.
There is another thread somewhere on this, but no solution, so I'm hoping this time around we can reach one.
My questions:
Is there a way around this with HuffYUV?
Is there a better, proven, lossless codec that does this? (Free or not free, no problem.)
I do not care about bigger file sizes. Much of this video will be compressed to H.264 or DivX and will be deleted afterwards. This is not a problem with my DivX conversions since VS does it directly, but when I want H.264, I need to export video to another app, and MPEG-2 exports would be lossier than a lossless codec.
I don't care if I have to pay for another recommended one. I'd be more than glad to plunk down some coin to a good codec company that solves my problem.
Thanks in advance!
HuffYUV and other lossless codecs.
