I am using Video Maker 9. Whenever I am importing images from a DVD everything works fine. However when I play the video there is no audio at all.
When I import a video from the computerhard disk I have video and audio, so no problem.
What can be the cause and solution?

I assume when you say you have "Video Maker", you mean you have Video Studio. If there are the letters SE after it, then it is a free crippled version that is usually distributed with hardware of some kind (like a capture card).
As such, it is not licensed to capture audio in the Dolby format since Dolby requires money to be paid for each use of its codec.
The audio on the DVD is almost undoubtedly Dolby. So that is why you are not receiving the audio from it.
There is a free AC-3 filter which can be found on videohelp.com But the only other alternative to that is to upgrade to a full version of Video Studio which has the full capacity to handle Dolby.
