Exporting VS individual cuts. Is this possible

Post by buzzwordy »

Let's say I have a VS project with a movie already done and I want to export all the cuts as individula file to a folder for later storage. Ideally they will have a way to order tham too like clip 1, clip 2, clip 3 etc as file names.

Can that be done?

I know I can export the whole file but that is not what I'm interested.

Hi Adrian

If you select the first clip, then go Clip-Save Trimmed Video

This will create a new video file of the clip (It will use the same properties as the clip.) adding a suffix -1, -2 etc. to the original name.

It will save the new clip in the working folder.

Is this what you want.?

Hi Trevor,

Thank you for suggesting that. That is what I'm looking for but for all the trimmed clips in the project.
I tried to select them all and the option you so kindly suggested was greyed out. It would be too time consuming to do one at a time. Maybe there is other solution...

Hi

Sorry Adrian but I do not think there is a way of creating all individual video files from your selected clips.
Afaik you have to do it one at a time.

You could of course render the project to one file.
Opening this in VS at a later date.
Now using Split by Scene------should separate the video into its individual clips.
Any transitions may stop VS recognising the clips/Split points.
So use the scissors to cut the video.

The video files properties would have to be same as project settings.

Otherwise I am afraid one at a time.
