Relink all clips
I am moving my source video files and therefore will have to "relink" my current projects based on those source files. When I open up the project file it asks me to relink and then browse to the new source video file. It does that fine but only relinks the first clip in the project. I have to relink all the clips one by one. I though once you relinked the first clip it automatically did all the rest? It doesnt in my case even though all the clips do come from the same source video file.

Hi
When the Relink Dialog Box appears please make sure that there is a check on "Relink Checking" and "smart Search". Works out for me just fine. (I simulated your problem)
Please check also if the videos you used in your project were all moved to that same folder where your first clip is.
Hope this would help. =)

Hi David
Were the original files located in the same folder?
If not , even though you have moved them to the same folder you may have problems re-linking.
After opening the project you get the re-link option.
This should re-link all files in the particular/same folder. (video/images/audio)
But clicking any unlinked clips may only link that particular clip.
Allow VS to activate re-linking.
Save the project. Re open to see the next re-link option. This should re-link all in folder not just the individual clip.

Thanks for your replies.
Originally all the vsp and source video files were in the same folder. I created new folders and separated the vsp and video file into new folders. The project file is very basic. It consisted simply of cut segments based on the same video file that ends up as multiple clips. I do have both check boxes checked when doing the first relink. I am struggling to understand the relinking logic but it appears that if you move both the vsps and video files to new folders it cant cope.
