Problems with installing PI12 ESD on Vista

Post by henkbart »

Hello,

I have a original ESD version of PI 12(Electronic Downloaded version) but i can't install it on Windows Vista.

Everytime i start an EXE file i get an "Installshield Setup Launcher error" and the installation terminates. Every EXE file from the PI12 pack does that. I install a lot of other programs that use installshield, and they all work fine. Only the PI12 has this problem.

Does anybody here knows how to solve this??
The support from Ulead only tells that i should contact Installshield, and Installshield tells me to contact... ULEAD.

Thank you.

I had the same problem with installing PI 12 on Vista. The Corel support wasn't much help.

Anyway, today I found a solution.

I copied the installation file to the system disk (c:) and ran it from there. Before that I tried to launch it from other locations, and always got the same error message (InstallShield (R) Setup Launcher has stopped working). This time the installation went quite smoothly. I did the same with the content file and the Vista patch.

No idea why it worked, though.

Hope this will help.

PhotoImpact ESD 12 on Vista machine

For some reason, I didn't encounter much problem installing Vista on my Vista machine. I built a computer just or Vista.. new AMD 64 +4000 CPU, New motherboard, New Graphics Card, 4 Gb of memory, etc.. I loaded the
program from a CD, it worked. I then loaded all the components, it still worked. I then loaded the Vista patch, it still worked. Great program.
In the past , I have had to do what one member did, I put the contents of the install disk ON the computer Hard drive and installed it from there.
This is of no help to you folks having a lot of problems.. I just wanted to let you know IT DOES WORK on Vista. You have to insure that you really meet all of the Vista requirements on graphics, memory, CPU, etc..
Have fun..
