edit audio from son's birthday video

Post by qarjami »

Video looks good except there are few "F" words. How can I keep the scene but mute the audio where the "F" word was said.

using 11-plus

Thanks

Enable Time-line view in your Project Time Line then Right-click on your video, select split audio. After the audio is separated it will be placed in the lower part of the project timeline. From here, you can erase those unwanted words be lowering the volume of the part of by cutting out that part. You can also replace that specific part with a tune (like tooooot) just like those in the tv shows.

hope this would help. =)

It can definitely be done within VS as described above, and if it's only a few words then this method will probably suffice. However, VS is primarily a video editing app with some audio editing capabilities, so if there are more than a few words to cut, you may find that using a proper audio editing program will be a little less 'finicky'.

If you don't already have one, Audacity is free and very capable. You can get the regular, install to your HDD version here. Or you can get a portable version here, which doesn't require installation.

In VS, you would simply got to share > create sound file, which will create a .wav file of your entire project.
Then open this file in Audacity and mute/replace the appropriate words.
Export your new audio from Audacity.
Go back to VS, mute the original audio on all clips, and then place your new 'clean' audio into the music or voice track.

peace.
