I see quite a few posts regarding this error, and since my error is due to my unsuccessfully changing the capture subfolder, maybe some of the posts for this error might benefit from my post.
"cannot create the capture subfolder [13011:5:2]"
Without noting where the original one was, I tried chg'g the MF4 capture subfolder's pathway to my external HD (eg; creating a "Capture" folder there, even creating parent folders of ULead MovieFactory 4.0, etc.), but still getting the same error prompt.
I had in mind trying to avoid the issue of my pc's shrinking storage space, but aside from the newest issue, now I'm thinking that chg'g the capture subfolder to an ext HD was a bad idea (likely that the capture performance will suffer due to USB'g the data as opposed to saving captures directly on computer), so how do I restore the pathway, what's the default one?
I tried chg'g working folder to the capture folder still on my pc, but am still getting the same error prompt.
I suppose restoring the correct (default?) pathway is pretty simple and eventually I'll figure it out, but please tell me I don't need to reinstall DMF4.
Lost pathway to capture folder, ref. 13011:5:2 prompt
Yes, updated...
What's the default pathway supposed to be?
Can't imagine it would change w/wo the update.

Fixed, no thanks to error 13011:5:2
Okay, since the key aspect of my issue, aside from involving the somewhat useless error message and code, dealt with my having tried changing the capture folder by incorrectly assuming the capture folder was that of the one I have in "C:\Documents and Settings\mynamehere\My Documents\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 SE\Capture".
Instead, in that I'd once discovered the program's "advanced settings" pane which is only found when hovering and/or clicking on the Add/Edit Media window's unidentified dropdown double arrow head, as such, some time ago (when I originally changed the generated video files pathway) is how I changed the pathway to my external HD (G), but as I'd forgotten this, I mistakenly tried changing the pathway by changing MF4's "Working folder" (as found in the Add/Edit Media window's "settings and options", ie; the bulleted document page icon).
Then, I clicked the settings and options icon, then clicked "preferences", tried re-directing that pathway to another by using a same named folder (ULead MovieFactory 4.0) on my H drive. Duh.
Instead, the only thing a user should have done (besides maybe adding a folder on my H drive) was to correctly change the pathway in the advanced capture settings.
Long of the short of it is that had MF identified the unidentified dropdown menu arrows in the Add/Edit Media window (hidden advanced settings), users would more than likely be aware that it exists.
If these settings are so sensitve and need to be hidden, surely MF could/should consider incorporating a password protected, but at least visible advanced settings.

I guess you didn't read the users manual, capturing & the advanced settings is covered under the section for capturing video in all the formats.

It is important to install the patches to MF4.
