WinDVD 4 freezes when switching layers

I'm having an annoying problem when I reach about the midway point of any DVD movie. I'm assuming that WinDVD is having a problem switching layers. It just freezes and is unrecoverable. I've tested with 3 movies so far and have only gotten halfway before a freeze every time. I terminate the program and try to get back where I was via scene selection and same thing again. I can restart after that point but it seems to always have problems at the layer switch...

Anyone else?

Anyone else having major issues with WMP 11 watching DVDs with the Intervideo codecs? I can't even move the selector for DVD menues in WMP.
