Can this be done?

Post by amutimer »

Hi,

I am new to this so I may be asking a very basic question.

I saw a video made by an amateur that was of a technical subject to do with shoes. This guy had no cameraman to help him so he just trained the video on himself and talked. His problem was that it was unscripted so he forgot to say that the sole of the shoe he was talking about was of GFS rubber.

The way they got over this was as follows. There was a piece of text that looked like a title overlay, and that text said "GFS rubber". And from that text they had a kind of arrow/pointer thing coming out. that they pointed at the sole of the shoe so the audience knew that what he referred to as "the sole" in the narration was in fact GFS rubber. Very cool. But the thing that made it so good was that the text and its arrow moved! They somehow got the thing to follow the sole of the shoe as the guy moved the shoe around.

It was a bit like they had a computer cursor that was of the text and the arrow and they moved it around in real time to follow the sole of the shoe. Funky! But how is that done? Anyone know?

Regards

It can be done in VS. Not that easily, mind you, but it is possible. I did it by placing the object where I wanted it, frame by frame. It was very time consuming, even for a few seconds of video.

Many thanks for the reply. Yes, I had subsequently thought of that. It will be a labour of love if I do it.

There is a tutorial for the sister product MediaStudio Pro 7 which may give you some ideas;

MSP 7: Embedding A GIF And Follow Path

Obviously you will need to modify it to work with VideoStudio.
