i accidentally deleted my photos from my camera card, photo explorer help says i can undo that by ctrl, z, y but that didn't work for me. checking the card via "my computer" and searching for all files turns up nothing. i am using windows xp pro. the p-ex help page said something about the photos being in the recycle bin, but itis empty. there is, of course, no recycle bin on the card from which they were deleted..... i have removed the card from the camera so that the files won't be overwritten....
any help would be greatly appreciated.
can i retrieve photos from card, accidentally deleted?

That, to a large extend will depend on how you deleted the images. If you did what I usually do, reformat the card in the camera, they will be gone completely. I have heard about a little utility program which is supposed to help in recovering deleted files. I just can't find the link at present. Google for "undelete", maybe you'll get lucky.

I have never tried recovering deleted files from a SD card but reading of your predicament I checked the software I have which is designed to retrieve files that for one reason or another have been deleted from a hard drive.
The software did detect my SD card when I connected my camera to it.
What you could try is download the trial of the program which will scan your SD card to see if anything can be recovered. This will at least let you know if there are any files there.
The trial version will not undelete them, you would have to purchase the product. Having said that, as mentioned by HeinzOz you could then do a Google search and find plenty of alternatives and so you can then compare prices etc.
Link to the trial software.
