UV 11 Plus DV Editing tips

Post by mallikar »

Hi,

I am a beginner to the DV editing softwares.

I have a requirement of mixing the actual video content with some photo images and some other video.

I have managed to capture the camcorder tape video to DVD. I could see 3 clips for 10 mins video. However, I am not able to edit the video clip to introduce some image/video within the video clip. Some how, I am able to do either before or after the video clip. Not able to do within the video clip. Not sure, how to split the video clip is small frames?

How can I do the above? Please help me out. Also, is there any quick reference guide avaialble. I was going through the UV 11 user guide and not realling getting a good help from the user guide. May be, I am just new to DV editing.

Also I am looking for web based trainings(beginners point of view). If any such trainings avaialble at reasonable price, please let me know.

Best Regards

You are best advised to capture your DV tapes to DV-AVI via a firewire connection, not to DVD format. The DVD format (mpeg2) is not the best format for editing.

Now, to insert a still image into a video clip, you have to cut the clip where you want your image to appear. Use the scissor tool to do that.

You will find a very detailed tutorial here:

You might want to look through the other available tutorials which can be found, logically enough, in the Tutorials section of this Board.
