Is there a way to apply pan & zoom to multiple images at once? I tried shift-click to select the images (ctrl-click wouldn't work), but when the multiple images are selected, the Image Properties Panel (the one with pan & zoom) dissapears.

What version are you using? I believe v11 allows you to do this. Previouse versions do not.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I am using v10.

If there was it wouldn't be practical.
To use Pan and Zoom effectively requires that YOU decide where you wish to start and finish plus the amount of zoom. This will differ for each individual clip.

I think I disagree about the practicality (sp). If I had a 500 deck of slides to go through that I wanted to create...going through each of the 500 to add a pan and zoom effect would be tiresome and tedious. I would think that if I wanted to apply the same pan and zoom path (say for example, from top to bottom diagonally, I could do so too all of the images in the deck...you cannot do this in VS 11.x, I have tried. I highlight multiple images, then go to the video filter are, or try to use "pan and zoom" and it will not let me apply this feature to multiple images at once. I guess my main point is...I am not creating a mass purchase documentary, I just want to view an image deck of the family at the zoo.

So how does the computer decide the point of interest in YOUR photo for you? - perhaps it is always in the middle?

If I have many images to apply Pan and Zoom I use the MovieWizard. This will apply pan and zoom to all images and (for the most part) the result is good. I can tweak the few that might not be to my liking. This is a great time saver. If you have not used the Movie Wizard, you will find it under tools. This should also apply to VS10.

I agree with Woodchuck. I had the same problem and someone from this forum suggested that I use MovieWizard. It works! It also has the smart Pan&zoom feature and so far I haev not had to change any. It works for both portrait and landscape picture orientation. AT the end of MovieWizard, just select to continue with Studio Editing. Good luck!

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use Movie Wizard to do this.

When I inserted an existing VSP slideshop project consisting of only still photos, it inserted it as a video.

Do I have to enter all the photos into Movie Wizard one at a time?

I understand that the VSP is just a script, but the MovieWizard parses the VSP script as an integral movie clip, rather than to insert the individual visual elements (photos, in this case) in the MovieWizard timeline.

The question remains, Must I insert the photos individually into the MovieWizard timeline in order to accomplish the bulk zoom and pan?

VideoStudio treats a VSP as if it was a rendered Video (in other words the editing decisions had been implemented) so inserting a VSP is like inserting a video. The answer is that you must insert the slides individually.

Ah! That was the answer to my question.

Not the answer I wanted, but I kind of suspected that to be the case.
