Organizing Videos

Post by norb »

Two questions re. Video Studio: I captured two hours of videos and want to organize them in different folders (one folder for scenes x, one for scenes y). I didn't find any way to do this - am I too stupid??

Secondly: When I delete a video, only the thumbnail is deleted, not the video itself. I have to delete the video manually from the harddrive. Is there any way to delete it directly within Videostudio together with the thumbnail?

Thanks for any help

#1) On the Edit tab, choose Video from the drop down list. Next to the drop down box you will see 5 icons. The middle one is the Library Manager (mouse over for info). Clicking that icon will enable you to create separate folders. You can also do this for images, audio, etc.

#2) To also delete the file from your HD, right click on a thumbnail, then hold down the Shift key and choose Delete. You will be asked if you want to delete the thumbnail, then if you want to actually delete the file.

Wow, Jeff, thanks for the fast answer.

ad 1) I did this, but I can`t move the videos to the new folder. Currently they are all in the folder "Video" and I want to move some of them to, say, folder "Video-X", which I created with the Library Manager. So I click the thumbnail and . . . can`t do anything with it.

I only can import (insert video), but then I have to select the videos from the Harddrive. As they are batch-captured the names make no sense. So I need to move them within the video-folder from Videostudio with the help of the thumbnails.
