The zoom feature is useless as the selection rectangle expands at a set ratio, and I don't even know how to get to the pan feature.
Every movie I play shows as a strip that doesn't fill the screen, even though I have a widescreen monitor.
How Do I Play a Widescreen Movie on a Widescreen Monitor?

different movies have different aspect ratios.
your monitor is 16:10 most likely and therefore isn't the same aspect ratio as most movies...

that's not the problem
I have over 12 years running a home theater installation company. I know all about original aspect ratio and the "black bars". In fact, in my personal home theater, I have a 2.35 aspect ratio screen and use the constant height method that every good commercial cinema uses. I have WinDVD Gold 8 and I have a dual monitor setup. This is in my office, not critical viewing, but I do want to watch an occasional DVD. both monitors are 16X9 LCD monitors and I have the resolution spot on for both. I can't get 16X9 movies (anamorphic or not) to fill the 16X9 screen. I'm not talking about 4:3 video with black on the sides or scope movies (like Star Wars) with black top and bottom. I am talking about 16X9. What is the solution here? Is there something simple that I am overlooking?
