stitching 2 photos together

I have a 12"x12" scrapbook page that I scanned half and half on a 8 1/2x11 scanner now I would like to stitch those 2 back together to create a ful 12"x12" picture. How do I go about doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which version of PI?

In PI 12, both images must have the same data type and must be opened. From the menu go to "Edit" > "Stitch scanned images" and select a suitable means of stitching from the available options.
