MF6 hangs & stops - won't burn DVD - won't load movie

Post by rbh5 »

I've been using MV6 for 3 months, with few problems. I've used both my older Sony camcorder & my new Sony min-dvd camcorder. I've uploaded from both cameras with no problem - until today.
I'm trying to create a dvd for the in-laws with 6 separate video clips. Some are already stored on my hard drive, some are imported from the mini-dvd.
They appear to load fine, I can edit them w/ no problem. Total time is about 50 minutes. I do not have a motion menu (takes too much time).
I've tried burning at max or 4x - but the program hangs and nothing is happening hours later.
I've saved the movie, tried to reload it & it won't load.
I've deleted the movie, re-imported video (in case something was bad), done it all over again - same problem.
I've deleted & reinstalled MV6 - same problem.
Nothing is different with my computer from last week, except I downloaded the update.
Any ideas??? I hate it when something is working great.. then doesn't.
thanks,
Robin

mpeg are frame-based

Post by rbh5 »

I just looked at the properties for burning, and they are frame-based.

I see from a prior posting that mpeg should not be frame-based.
I have no idea how this happened, but how do I switch it back to upper level?

thanks,
Robin

Click the Gear icon (lower left), select Change MPEG Settings, then Customize. On the first tab (General) you can change the Frame Type, from Frame Based to Upper Field First.
