Digital Cameras normally connect to a PC by way of a USB cable.
Some but not all will require the installation of hardware drivers.

Firstly disconnect the camera from the computer.
Connect the USB cable and then turn the camera on.
Windows should now detect the camera and if necessary will install the necessary drivers. The camera should then show up in windows Explorer as a drive letter.

You should then be able to retrieve your images either directly using windows Explorers copy/paste facilities, or with suitable softare including PEX.

Did you try again after installing the drivers?

What OS (operating system) are you running, XP or Vista? Be advised that PE-6 does not support Vista..
