As for the 3D effect question, I am afraid that transitions do not work in the overlay track. You can make it look as though you are using a cross fade by putting one video in one overlay track, and the other video in the next overlay track, but having it slightly overlap the end of the other one.

But the actual transition effects do not work in the overlay track.

And regarding the question about not being able to get Preview to work in the burning module, if you are using XP (and not Vista), then you have to upgrade your Direct X with February 2007 update patch available on the Microsoft site.

Aha, transitions in the overlay track. There is a work round.

1. Start a new project.
2. Place the clips that you later wish to use in the overlay track on this projects video track and insert the transition(s) that you wish to use.
3. Save this VideoStudio Project.
4. Go back to your original project and insert the VideoStudio project you created above onto the overlay track - just as you would a video.

NO transitions work in any overlay track. Transitions only work in the main (top) video track.

As stated previously, there are various work-arounds to achieve transitions in the overlay tracks.

Would you care to share a vsp file with us that contains your
whirlpool transition in an overlay track. We would all be very interested to see it.
