rdh -- you should have just resurrected your earlier post instead of starting off a new and seemingly mysterious thread. Though if the things already suggested didn't work, I am not sure you are going to get many other suggestions. Who knows?

One other thought: I know nothing about the Kodak range, nor how old your camera is, but another possibility is that it might be using the H.264 codec, which is fairly new. VS9 certainly could not handle it, nor VS10 for that matter, though VS11 is supposed to be able to.
I assume you have put whatever disk came with your camera into your computer to load any driver/codec necessary.
Can you actually download a file from the camera into VS9? I know it won't play, but does it actually appear in the VS9 Library pane? If so, can you right click on it and copy all of its Properties here please. That will at least give us a clearer idea of exactly what kind of MOV file we are dealing with.
The other thing to try is to download a free conversion program called SUPER (do a Google for it). That should allow you to convert it to, say, mpeg-2. SUPER seems to be able to handle most formats, including H.264 should it prove to be that one.
