Error: either no video capture driver is installed in this

system or no device is connected.

i have a Panansonic sd3 HD - mem card AVCHD camcorder - trying to connect and transfer the video from the cam onto my pc

help!

You don't give many details but it seems that perhaps your PC does is not recognising your video camera. Did you receive (hardware) drivers (on CD) with the camera and if so did you install them? What version of windows do you have? Your video camera may be newer than your operating system and therefore Windows will not automatically install the driver for you.
Also check your 'hardware devices' via START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL then double click on SYSTEM, select DEVICE MANAGER 'open' IMAGING DEVICES (click on the + sign next to Imaging Devices. Do you see your video camera (name) listed?

Well, ...hmmm. try this. I actually bought the SD3 panny from Japan- - the CD in the box that contains the drivers is in Japenese. my god.
so , i have been on the net trying desperately to locate the drivers for it- panny does not have them on the support page

I get the impression that your camera records to memory (not to tape or disk) - is that true? If so it should have a USB port and you should be able to copy any files tp PC via USB and go from there.
