How do I get a Title that stays a while?

Post by ruggy1 »

I have VS7 and am trying to insert a text title with effects at the beginning of my project. I can get the title and the effects but cannot get them to persist for a few seconds before they disappear. As soon as the zoom (which takes a long time to actually Zoom) is finished my title disappears without having time to actually read it. Anyone know how to add a few seconds onto the end of a title? Thanks

Hi,

Can you change view to Timeline and drag the edge of the title?

Are you saying the title disappears before the end of the specified title duration?

I'm using VS8 so I might not be giving you the exact names for the items in VS7, but I've used VS7 and I know the same options exist.

On the title tab near the Animation check box you should see a button to customize the animation attributes. Depending on which animation effect you've choosen, if you click on that you should see a drop down box to select the Pause length.

Ah, I apparently misunderstood. You want the title as it appears at the end of the animation sequence to remain on the screen.

I have previously done the following: I create two titles, one with the animation sequence, and a second one immediately following it in the timeline that is used for the static text. You can copy-and-paste the titles with all of their attributes, and then simply uncheck the Animation checkbox on the second title. You could even add a third one that fades out after the static title displays for a few seconds...
