Capture Drivers errors for Panasonic HDC-SD1

Post by cfletcher1971@hotmail.com »

Hello,

I just bought a new Panasonic HDC-SD1 High-Def camcorder and downloaded the trial versions of both DVD MovieFactory® 6 Plus and Ulead® VideoStudio™ 11 Plus. With either, when I try to capture video from my new camera I get "capture driver not present" or "no device present" errors. There are no "drivers" for this camera on Panasonic's site, and I cannot find anything in ULead's knowledge base either.

I just want to be able to use these products first and make sure they'll work with my camera.

Can anyone help?

First, to start, you don't capture your video from these avchd camcorders. You import them using the "Import DVD/DVD-VR Disk" function.
Depending on the order you installed the products I would recommend importing the avchd video files from the last program you installed. So if you installed MF6 last then import using MF6. If you installed VS11+ after Mf6 then use VS11+.
Reason being I had some problems, I installed VS11+ first, then MF6+. In MF6+ when I import a avchd disk the parameters are correct 16:9 aspect ratio. When i import in VS11+ the aspect ratio says 4:3.
You can also verify this when you import, maybe it's just my avchd disks.

Also perform a search in both the VideoStudio & Moviefactory Forums using the key AVCHD. You will find many useful discussions.
