MF6 Plus - Auto Loop problem

Post by Cryption »

I just installed MF6 Plus and when I create a slideshow, I de-select the auto loop, but the DVD plays continuous? Made several copies, same problem.

Anyone else have this problem or suggestions to fix it? Never had a problem in the previous version, is there another place I need to de-select this feature.

many thanks

Please don't double-post. I deleted your 2nd post (which didn't make much sense with no details). And don't reply to your own post to "bump" it to the top.

If someone can help you they will, but this is a message board. It's not online-chat and it may sometimes take a day or so to get a good response.

Personally, I can't help you. I've never made a slide show and I don't have MF6.

Thanks for the pleasant response

I was trying to ask for someone to actually test if they can create a slideshow that does not auto repeat. Made perfect sense to me.

For those able to help me. I've discovered that the Auto Repeat works when using a menu. The slideshow I'm creating does not have a menu and even tho I deselect the Auto Repeat, the DVD Slideshow continues to loop

THis sounds like the "reverse" of an earlier issue (prior to MF6) where folks could not get the DVD to auto-loop (when there was no menu). In your case, you do not want the Slideshow to auto-loop at the end -- what would you prefer the dvd to do -- just stop completely, or perhaps show a menu giving the user the choice to play the slideshow again?

Thanks for responding. I want the DVD to simply stop. I've been using DVD 4, and I've not had any problem. Most of the folks I create these for ask me not to have a menu and not to have it loop. They want to put it in the player at an event and watch without having to worry about stopping.

Well, this isn't an ideal solution (It's more of a workaround). Since you don't need the menu features of MF6, then output the slideshow to an mpeg video file (using the icon above the Create Menu checkbox). Then fire up MF4, insert the created mpeg slideshow, and author your DVD.

Thank you. Well, I can always go back to MF4 and create the DVD, but I was hoping to use MF6.
If you use MF6 Plus, could you throw a few images in a slideshow project and preview it with the repeat option unchecked? The preview will allow you to tell me if it loops or not without burning a DVD.
I just want to know if its a bug in the code or a install/download issue.

I already tried it before I made my original post in this thread -- it keeps looping (when there's no menu). I think they should provide an explicit option to either Loop or Stop-Playback at the end of the dvd.
