HELLO FROM PORTUGAL

Post by zorza »

Hi. My name is Jorge, and I live in Porto, in the North of Portugal. This is the beautifull city where the Porto wine is made. We have a great river and very nice sea beaches..

I am a big Bike fan, and have 2. A Vespa and a Africa Twin. I just returned from Marroco, where I have shot about 9 hours of film, on my panasonic gs, wich is a great camera, with 3ccd and a great color!

I have started to play around video editing on windows movie maker, but being soon discovered I needed something more.
I am a big Corel fan, using for many years now several of their products, including the amazing but not very known, Corel Xara.

I am currently discovering new things to do with this amazing program (videostudio), and newer ways too look at each frame.. You can see a small clip I made a couple of months ago, right here:

Just purchased X2.... I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions shortly. Actually I already do, I just don't have the time to properly ask them now...Thanks in advance for all your help in the future.

Hello!

Post by TuoKen »

My name is Ken Miller. I live with my partner of 28+ years in the high foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, near Yosemite. I work for Amtrak, the US passenger service - I am now in year 37 with them, with two years to go to retirement.
I have been involved, basically hobbyist, with film and video for many years, but have almost always been VERY frustrated by editing. I started with film - 8mm and and my 16mm Bolex, and found the edit process fascinating, but hoped there would be something better. I "graduated" to 1/2 video tape, which was a big problem due to the radial scan head. Then I just played with multiple VCRs for a while.
When I figured the software was mature enough to try it, I started using Pinnacle's software, only to have it crash every time I tried to use it. For some peculiar reason, rather than looking elsewhere, I kept upgrading it. It finally started working, but was still not satisfactory.
Then I got an email for a good price on the VideoStudio and decided to try it. Believe me, I like it! It is not really intuitive, though, so I am hoping to keep finding those gems of info from other users to keep me rolling along!
