Introduction

Post by jharrer »

Hi, my name is John. I use VS11 and lurk on this board for ideas. I have posted some questions and have found the answers to be useful.

I'm using VS to document my horse training experiences and find it generally easy to use, however it does crash more often than I like. I'm running it on my 2008 Vostro running Window XP.

Thanks,

John

'ello. I'm known online as NobleArc, or The Lazy Canadian. I originally signed up for these boards to find a way to get WinDVD8 to activate on Vista, but after a while, I ended up getting it to work.

Figured I'd keep ze ability to post here anyway, though, in case I ever have any future problems.

My nom de web is Frankenbike, West Los Angeles, CA.

I'm a Ulead Media Studio Pro user, and I just purchased Corel/Intervideo's WinDVD player for my wife's laptop. None of the free DVD players I tried worked on her laptop. The Corel one works perfectly.

I've found Media Studio Pro to be a decent enough video editor for editing my demo reels and occasional fun projects, and have been using it for about 4 years.

Until now, I didn't even know there was a forum available. Good to know ;)

Originally from Singapore, now living in 'sunny' Tasmania, Austr!

Recently upgraded from VS 11.5 to X2 (12), PI 12 to PI x3.

Just a hobbist with image manipulation... turned to video editing - like an earlier member said about not having movie clips of their 'dog' & now 'busily' recording their new puppy... we have two dogs & a cat... and loving filming them with my DVDcamcorder which I must include - am driving my family crazy with home movies of our pets!

Recently was asked to make a training DVD for place of work... VS 11.5 did the job.. & management quite impressed with the end product!

Love also working with Gif Animator 5 which came with PI 12 - not using it in desktop (Vista) and transferring images to laptop to produce animations and then transferring back to send them off to friends & family or use in video editing.. Great fun learning new tricks everytime!

Still very naive with lots of end product terms (dixV, etc) or technical terms (ram, .. ) but otherwise happy with what I'm doing with VS & PI

Hello all... :)

I am 60 years old, married to Margaret for 40 years and have 3 sons. The two eldest have given us 4 brilliant grandchildren. The youngest son gets married next July so there may be more.
I was born in Tring in Hertfordshire (UK). Met Margaret Up north while we were both on holiday. We got married and lived in Margaret's home town, Annan, Scotland for a while then moved back down to Tring.
I started my working life as a Motor mechanic. Served my time and stayed in the motor trade until I was 42 when home computing was arriving on the scene.
I studied computing and programming and managed to get a job working at the local computer shop, building and repairing home computers. This progressed on to PC's and programming in Visual Basic.
At the age of 45, I landed an I.T. Managers position where I wrote the companies control software and built and maintained the 22 PC network. In 2004 I was made redundant when the company decided to use external contractors to carry out the I.T. management. I then bought a little bungalow in Clacton on Sea in Essex and am now enjoying an early retirement by the sea.
I get plenty of time now to play with my PC's, create and maintain a few web sites and enjoy my other hobby which is restoring and riding motorbikes.

Although I am new to the Forum, I have been using Ulead video studio for a number of years and am currently on VS11. I have tried many of the alternative video editing applications for the PC and always come back to Video Sudio. Over the years I have got used to it and nothing else seems as good.

I am looking forward to learning and helping where possible on the forum..

Regards to All

Hi All.

I'm Tim, I'm in the UK (near Winnie the Pooh!) and have been playing around with VideoStudio since version 6 which came with my Leadtek TNT2 VIVO graphics card. I've just recently upgraded my main PC to an Intel quad-core and am loving the increased performance in video apps but a little disappointed with the general day-to-day performance - I reckon my old AMD X2 4200 was quicker!

I haven't had much of a chance to play with VideoStudio 12 yet but so far it seems to be an improvement on VS 11.5. I hope that Corel will change the interface a little and allow us to specify exact parameters in, for example, the Video filters rather than the imprecise sliders and percentages.

Anyway, this isn't a wishlist thread so I'll leave it there. Nice to see many familiar names from the previous forum and greetings to any new names.

Hello folks,
With the help of this forum (and Yahoo Answers of all places), I was able to solve a problem that bugged me for days.
Many thanks and hopefully I shall be able to get help again or pass on what I learn in times to come.

John from Reston, VA here. Relatively new to video editting, have been doing it as a hobby for about 4 years on-and-off. Mainly burning old VCR tapes and short comedy clips etc. from onine sites. Have yet to find a program that really makes me happy--but the Ulead solution seems to be the best one out there. I've tried Pinnacle but it was too unstable--but I like their editting features better, wish Ulead's editor was more like theirs.

I also wish there was a way for me to use layouts, backgrounds, etc. from earlier versions of Ulead DMF--sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Hey everyone! I am an avid video editor of footage my friend and I shoot. Here are our movies: http://in.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=426E9F8F56342BEE

The last two (and going forward) were edited with Ulead VideoStudio 11.5+.

Hi, my name's Dave and I'm retired and just became interested in editing because of many ethnic movies I have which I've never got around to burning to DVD. most of these movies are very poor quality and need a lot of touching up, cleaning and editing to make them viewable so I tried Video Studio 12 and so far it's a great help especially in adjusting the color and light. So far I've found that there's much more depth to the program than I first hoped for so I'm quite happy about the purchase and look forward to getting into editing more deeply.

Relatively new to the board. I'm from Australia and have always found this site useful - especially when I've been having some problems with capturing.

Thanks guys for all your useful info and help.
